Chili’s Restaurant in Lindale recently donated 15 percent of its revenue over a two-day period to benefit the Jordan-Duncan American Legion Post No. 15 in Lindale, post officials said.

The contribution, which totaled $240, was made possible by the restaurant’s “Give Back’’ program which supports local 501.c. non-profit organizations.

Eagle Pharmacy in Lindale donated 144 flags for this project, post officials said.

Proceeds will be used by post members to purchase flags for the graves of the approximately 750 Lindale veterans across 10 cemeteries in the area.

Flags will be placed on each of the graves on Memorial Day (May 30), Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11).

Post officials said to have a veteran’s grave marked accordingly family members can stop by the American Legion booth at Countryfest in October and provide the deceased veteran’s name and location. Donations are still be accepted for this project, post officials said.

“On behalf of the American Legion, we would like to thank everyone who helped with this project (by getting) it on the internet, distributing flyers and of course, those who dined at Chili’s to support this cause,’’ said post Vice Commander Bill Hamby.
