Donald Samuel Bille


Funeral services for Donald Samuel Bille, 81 of Edom, formerly of Lindale, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Pastor Ryan Surratt officiating.

Interment will follow at the Damascus Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.

Mr. Bille passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home in Edom. He was born Aug. 4, 1936 in Erie, Pa., to the late Harold G. and Elizabeth (Popenciu) Bille.

Prior to living in Edom for the last 27 years, Donald served in the Naval Reserve, surveyed for the city of Escondido, CA, and was retired from the county of San Diego’s Flood Control Dept. He was also an experimental machinist and had several patents on machinist tools that are used to fabricate aviation and aeronautical parts.

He also enjoyed maintaining his kid’s instruments while taking them to Bluegrass competitions across southern California.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Land Bille of Edom; daughter, Deborah Bille of Monterey, Calif.; son, Christopher Bille and wife, Valerie of Alpine, Calif.; grandchildren, Scott Edwards, Brittney Edwards, Travis Bille, and Abbigail Bille; great grandchild, Charlie Edwards.
