Eagles ready for district play

LHS baseball team collects 11th win of the season


District 17-5A baseball action is getting under way and the Lindale Eagles are near the top of the pre-district standings with 11 wins and three losses and a tie, with Whitehouse at the top with 11 wins and three losses.

The Eagles took two more wins in convincing fashion this past week, a 22-3 drubbing of Brook Hill on Tuesday, March 13 followed by a 13-2 rout of the Athens Hornets on Friday, March 16.

Prior to those two wins, the Eagles competed in the A&M Consolidated High School baseball tournament and collected three more wins plus a tie to their record to improve to 9-3-1 on the year.

On Thursday, March 8, the Eagles defeated the Del Valle Cardinals, 7-4, to improve their record to 7-3 on the season. In the second game on Thursday, Lindale tied the Brazoswood Buccaneers, 5-5.

On Friday, March 9, Lindale took down the Magnolia West Mustangs, 3-0 and on Saturday, March 10, the Eagles defeated A&M Consolidated, 10-3.

The previous week, Lindale went 2-2 at the Robbie Surratt Memorial Tournament at the Lindale Baseball and Softball Complex.
