Services for Jesse Rodriquez, 54, of Lindale were held Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 at the Lindale ISD Performing Arts Center at Lindale High School with Judge James Cowart officiating.
The PAC was filled to near capacity for the service and in a special tribute this year’s Lindale High School football players wore their jerseys to the service.
Interment was in the Lindale City Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
Mr. Rodriguez died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 in a Tyler hospital. He was born in Palestine, Texas on Dec. 6, 1963 to Jose’ Maria and Estella (Figarova) Rodriguez.
A longtime resident of Lindale, he had previously worked as an electrician for Kelly-Springfield and Tyler Pipe Industries.
He was a familiar face at many community events as well as Lindale ISD events. Mr. Rodriguez was an active member of the LHS Football Booster Club, the LHS Softball Booster Club and volunteered to help with many community fundraisers and events.
He served popcorn for the youngsters at the Early Childhood Center as well as being a longtime tailgating fixture at LHS home football games.
Mr. Rodriguez also gave of his time as a coach for many years in the local youth softball leagues.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years Barbara Rodriguez (LHS Athletic Department secretary); son and daughter in law Matt and Heather Rodriguez of Lindale; daughter Katie Rodriguez of Lindale; brother and sister-in-law Joe Rodriguez Jr. and wife Kathy Rodriguez of Lindale; sister and brothers-in-law Beatrice and Matt Geissal of Lindale; Bertie Malone of Lindale and Nina and David Bryan of Lindale; parents Joe Rodriguez Sr. and Estella Rodriguez as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of very special friends.
Pallbearers included Ruben Garcia, Walter Malone, Jr., Lankston Malone, Michael Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez and Benjamin Hitt.
