A three-month investigation culminated with Smith County Sheriff’s deputies seizing three illegal gaming machines as well as an estimated $13,000 in cash this past week from the Oasis convenience store at the corner of Interstate 20 and State Highway 110 near Lindale, officials said.

Authorities were made aware of the illegal game machines in June and sheriff’s office undercover investigators witnessed the machines being operated several times during the course of the investigation.

A search warrant was obtained on Wednesday, Aug. 1 and deputies with the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office assisted in executing the search warrant on Thursday, Aug. 2.

Officials said no arrests have been made but once the investigation is complete charges are expected to be filed.
