Funeral Services for Joseph Alfred Barron, 90 of Tyler and relative of Lindale residents, were held Friday, July 20, 2018 at New Harmony Baptist Church with grandson, Wade Aaron and Dr. Mike Smith officiating.
Interment was in the New Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
Mr. Barron passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in Tyler. He was born March 15, 1928 in New Harmony to the late Coke Franklin and Annie Cleo (Moore) Barron.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and in 1957 he went to work for the Tyler Police Department, retiring as a Master Patrolman.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gene Barron in 2008; brother, Alton Ray Barron; sister, Ruth Ferrell; daughter-in-law, Sandy Barron.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Barron and wife, Virginia of Tyler and Mark Barron of New Chapel Hill; daughter, Martha Barron Aaron and husband, Dennis of New Harmony; grandchildren, Melissa Barron Navarro and husband, Jesse of Red Springs, Sabrina Barron Alvey and husband, David of Lindale, Jena Jett and husband, Michael of Red Springs, William “Dub” Bryant and wife, Brandy of Tyler, Clay Barron and wife, Krystal of Whitehouse, Erica Aaron Smith of Jacksonville and Wade Aaron and wife Hannah of Lewisville, Texas.
Other survivors include 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
