Lady Eagles sign soccer letters of intent

A hat trick of sorts took place this past Wednesday (Feb. 7) at Lindale High School as three Lady Eagle soccer players signed college letters of intent on National Signing Day.

Taylor Webb, (with Central Arkansas), Hope Williams and Lauren Sumner (both with Concordia Lutheran University) made their college choices official in a crowded LHS cafeteria, filled with friends and family.

Also on hand were Lindale ISD Athletic Director Mike Maddox and Lady Eagle head soccer coach Kristin Parson as well as assistant coach Pam Price.

Maddox introduced the players and gestured to the large gathering in the cafeteria.

“Just take a moment to see how much you have meant to all your friends and family,’’ he said, pointing to the crowd. “All of us are so very proud of you for what you’ve accomplished.’’

Parson noted this was a “special day for our program.’’

“These girls were among the first I had when I came to Lindale,’’ she said. “I can still remember when you were freshmen.’’

The coach recognized their growth on and off the field.

“It’s been an honor to watch you grow as players and as young women,’’ she said. “We are definitely going to miss you.’’

Central Arkansas University, an NCAA Division I school, is located in Conway, Ark. and Concordia Lutheran, NCAA Division III, is in Austin.
