Lindale Rodeo arrives May 17

When the month of May arrives, East Texans know the 31st annual Lone Star Ram Lindale Championship Rodeo presented by Real Edge Real Estate is about to begin another three-day run at the Lindale Rodeo Arena.

This year’s rodeo will be May 17-19 with gates opening at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 17, officials announced.

Live music will be on the schedule with rodeo action getting under way at 7:30 p.m. each day.

Tickets are available at LACC office, Southside Bank, Texas Bank and Trust, Brookshire’s and Kidd Jones.

Kid’s tickets are free in advance at Southside Bank for Thursday’s performance, Texas Bank and Trust for Friday’s performance and Brookshire’s for Saturday’s performance.

Rodeo events include bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling and team roping. Youngsters 7-12 can compete in the calf scramble while kids six and under can compete in the cash scramble.

The always-popular Mutton Bustin will return with action beginning at 6:15 p.m. each day.

Each child wanting to enter the Mutton Bustin must register at the chamber office, 205 S. Main Street.

Live entertainment will follow the Mutton Bustin each night.

Scheduled to take the stage this year will be Tyler Dudley on Thursday, Billie Jo Sewell on Friday and Steve Carpenter on Saturday.
