Beverly Kline, founding director of Living Alternatives, is scheduled to speak at Community Christian Fellowship on Sunday, Jan. 21, which is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, CCF officials announced.
The SoHLS is celebrated each year on the Sunday closest to the anniversary of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decisions known as Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which legalized abortion in each state.
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation in January, 1984 creating the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day.
Since Living Alternatives began in 1982, the ministry has grown and presently includes a 10-bed maternity home, a pregnancy resource center, a licensed adoption agency, a discipleship ministry for new mothers, a ministry for children in foster care as well as an outreach ministry to teenage girls in foster care.
